Working with Borders and Rounded Corners

Overview

Borders allow you to visually separate sections of your email and draw attention to important content. In the Email Builder, you can apply borders to an entire row or to individual columns within a row.

Each border can be customized using:

  • Style (Solid, Dashed, or Dotted)
  • Width
  • Color

You can also apply rounded corners to create softer, card-style layouts.

Row Borders

Row Borders apply to the entire content area of a row, regardless of how many columns it contains.

Use a Row Border when you want all of the content within a row to share a single border.

To apply a Row Border:

  1. Select the row you want to edit.
  2. In the Properties panel, locate Content Area Border.
  3. Select a border style.
  4. Choose the border width.
  5. Select a border color.

The border surrounds the entire row and remains consistent on both desktop and mobile layouts.

Customizing Individual Sides

By default, the same border is applied to all four sides of the row.

Enable More Options to apply different border styles, widths, or colors to the top, right, bottom, or left side individually.

Column Borders

Column Borders apply only to the selected column rather than the entire row.

This is useful when you want one column to stand out without affecting the surrounding content.

To apply a Column Border:

  1. Select the row.
  2. Navigate to the Column Structure section of the Properties panel.
  3. Select the column you want to edit.
  4. Configure the border style, width, and color.

Repeat these steps for additional columns if needed.

Rounded Corners

Rounded Corners allow you to soften the appearance of a row by rounding one or more corners of the content area.

To apply Rounded Corners:

  1. Select the row.
  2. In the Properties panel, locate Content Area Rounded Corners.
  3. Specify the desired corner radius.

By default, the same radius is applied to all four corners.

Enable More Options if you want to specify a different radius for each corner.

Rounded Corners Without Borders

Rounded Corners can be used with or without a visible border.

If you are not using a border, apply a different Content Area Background Color than the Row Background Color so the rounded effect is visible.

Best Practices

  • Use Row Borders to highlight complete sections of your email.
  • Use Column Borders when you want to emphasize individual pieces of content.
  • Keep border styles consistent throughout your design.
  • Use Rounded Corners sparingly to create modern, card-style layouts.
  • Preview your design before sending to verify the appearance across devices.
