Managing Unsubscribes
supports two different unsubscribe configurations:
You should select an unsubscribe configuration based on your point of collection and the expectations set with new subscribers.
Note: If an email address is subscribed to only one list, The email address will not receive any one-time, recurring or waterfall mailings. However, a list-level unsubscribe may still receive triggered messages, while a global unsubscribe would not (depending on your unsub settings).
List-Level unsubscribes
The list-level unsubscribe allows recipients to unsubscribe from a specific mailing list.
Example: John is on three mailing lists.
If John unsubscribes from a mailing via a list-level unsub link, PostUp will only unsubscribe them from the list associated with that mailing.
John will continue to maintain a Normal status within the database, and receive mail based on the other two list subscriptions.
If you have multiple brands with distinct message streams, you may want to implement a list-level unsubscribe.
Alternatively, if subscribers expect to receive all messages from a single source, and the point of collection implies an easy opt-out from all future mailings, you should implement a global unsubscribe.
Global unsubscribes
The global unsubscribe will unsubscribe members at the database level.
Example: Jane is on four mailing lists.
If Jane unsubscribes from a mailing via a global unsub link, they will no longer be eligible to receive any mailing sent from that PostUp site.
If subscribers expect to receive all messages from a single source, and the point of collection implies an easy opt-out from all future mailings, you should implement a global unsubscribe.
Alternatively, if you have multiple brands with distinct message streams, you may want to implement a list-level unsubscribe.
Note: a global unsubscribe does not block subscriptions to other mailing lists.
However, a recipient will never be eligible to receive another mailing if the address appears in a global unsubscribe status within PostUp.
A recipient must:

have a Recip.Status of Normal,

be subscribed to the targeted list, and
-
match any targeting criteria specified in the mailing setup in order to receive the mailing.
Unsub Settings

Under the site’s settings, you may select to disable or enable the option to send triggered mailings to unsubscribed recipients.
Leaving this option enabled will allow PostUp to send event-based triggered messages to recipients — even if they globally unsubscribed.
Example: you may enable this option to ensure recipients continue to receive password reset requests, order confirmations and welcome messages.
Please speak with your PostUp Integration Consultant about configuring this option.
Re-subscribe via import
You may also consider enabling or disabling the option that will re-subscribe recipients if re-imported into PostUp.
This option is available under the site’s settings and can only be configured by a PostUp server admin.
Leaving this option enabled will allow PostUp to resubscribe a recipient to a list, even if that recipient previously unsubscribed.
