Single Click Subscription Tag

 

The Single Click Subscription tag works similarly to other mail merge tags but requires selecting the list that recipients will be subscribed to when they click the link.

Follow the steps below to insert the tag into a mailing.

1. Create or edit a mailing

Create a new mailing or open an existing mailing and navigate to the Content tab.


2. Place the cursor in your content

Scroll to the HTML content area and place your cursor where you want the subscription link to appear.


3. Insert the tag

In the Asset Library accordion menu:

  1. Expand the General Tags section.

  2. Locate the Single Click Subscription tag.

  3. Double click the tag to insert it into your content.


4. Select the list

After inserting the tag, a parameter selection box will appear.

  1. Choose the list that recipients should be subscribed to when they click the link.

  2. Click Insert Tag to complete the setup.

Only one list can be selected for each tag. If you want to promote multiple lists, you must insert a separate tag for each one.


5. Recipient experience

When a recipient clicks the link:

  1. They are automatically subscribed to the selected list.

  2. They are redirected to a confirmation page.

  3. The confirmation page displays the title of the list they subscribed to.


Enabling Public Signups for a List

The list used with the Single Click Subscription tag must have the public signup option enabled.. If public signups are not enabled, recipients will receive an error when attempting to subscribe.

Follow these steps to enable public signups.

1. Navigate to the Lists tab

Locate the list you want to promote.


2. Edit the list

Click the Edit icon to modify the list settings.


3. Enable public signup

Scroll to the Subscriptions section and locate the Public Signup option.

Change the dropdown setting to Yes.


4. Save your changes

Click Save at the bottom of the page to apply the changes.


Best Practices

The Single Click Subscription tag is commonly used to:

  • promote additional newsletters within a mailing

  • grow related message streams

  • allow subscribers to easily opt into more content

For best results, place the subscription link in a clearly labeled section such as:

“Interested in more content like this? Subscribe to our Tech Newsletter.”
